Frequently Asked Questions

  • A wedding journalist tells the story of your wedding day through words. While your photographer captures the visual moments, I capture the details and emotions that photos can't show. Wedding journalism preserves the feelings, conversations, and memorable moments that make your day uniquely yours.

  • If you've ever wished you could bottle a feeling, wedding journalism might be for you. Photos are beautiful, but they can't tell you what song was playing when your dad started crying or capture the exact words your maid of honor used in her toast. Years from now, when memories start to blur, you'll have a written account that brings everything rushing back.

Wedding journalism is especially meaningful for couples who value storytelling, who want to remember the "why" behind their celebration, or who know they'll be too caught up in the moment to remember every detail themselves.

  • Every love story is different, and my process adapts to fit yours. Generally, it looks like this:

Before your wedding, we'll have a conversation where I learn about your relationship, your vision for the day, and the details that matter most to you. On your wedding day, I'll be there observing, taking notes, and conducting brief interviews with you and your guests. Afterward, I'll craft your story into a polished written piece that you'll treasure forever.

The final format depends on the package you choose, but every option results in a professional, publication-ready piece that captures the heart of your celebration.

  • Come ready to share your story. Think about how you met, your proposal, why you chose your venue, and any family traditions or personal touches you're incorporating into your day. If there are specific people whose perspectives you want included, let me know ahead of time.

Beyond that, just bring yourself. The best interviews feel like conversations, not interrogations.

  • Your photographer and I are teammates, not competitors. I handle all the coordination and licensing details so you don't have to.

Before your wedding, I'll reach out to your photographer to introduce myself and explain my process. We’ll talk shop, and discuss my licensing agreement. My licensing fee is baked into my pricing. If your photographer chooses to waive this fee, you’ll receive a discount!

After the wedding, I'll contact your photographer to get access to the delivered gallery, including their images throughout my magazine or newspaper spread. This means your written story can be paired with the beautiful photos they captured, creating a complete keepsake.

  • No, I'm a writer. I work alongside your wedding photographer or engagement photographer to create your final product. They capture the visuals, and I capture the narrative. Together, we give you a complete picture of your day.

  • Yes! Check out my preferred photographer network. These are photographers I've worked with and trust. They already understand my process, which means smoother coordination on your wedding day and fewer surprises when it comes to licensing images for your publication. They also waive their licensing fees, which means savings passed directly on to you.

  • I pay licensing fees to use your images in my publications. If you prefer, you can waive the fee in exchange for passing that discount on to our shared couples, joining my preferred vendor network, and receiving a copy of each publication for your own portfolio.

When we collaborate, our shared creative work paints a more complete picture of our couple’s wedding day.

  • I bring over a decade of writing, interviewing, and editing experience to every wedding I cover. I earned my bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Denver and spent years working at both student newspapers and Denver newsrooms, honing my ability to tell stories that resonate.

As a Colorado native, I know this state inside and out. And as a 2026 bride myself, I understand firsthand the emotions, chaos, and joy that come with planning a wedding. I bring both professional expertise and personal perspective to every story I tell.

  • The Love Dispatch is built on a simple belief: your love story deserves a human touch. Writing is one of the oldest ways we've preserved what matters to us. Long before cameras, people wrote down their stories so future generations could know them. That tradition is worth protecting. Every part of your publication is made by real people, from the interviews I conduct to the designer who lays out your pages to the print shop that produces your final piece.

Supporting human work isn't just a value; it's the foundation of what I do.I do use AI to transcribe interviews, but every word in your publication is written and edited by a human. The layout is created by a fairly paid graphic designer, and your final piece is printed by a local Colorado print shop.

  • Absolutely. There are no travel fees for weddings within 100 miles of Aurora, Colorado. For Colorado locations outside that radius, travel fees apply based on your specific location.

If your wedding is outside of Colorado, reach out and let's talk. I'd love to hear about your plans and figure out how we can make it work.

  • Timelines vary depending on your package:

Love Story: Delivered within one week of your interview.

The Feature: Delivered 8 to 10 weeks after your wedding.

The Full Scoop: Delivered 10 to 12 weeks after your wedding.

After your wedding, I transcribe hours of interviews, design your custom spread, and coordinate with a local printer to produce your final publication. Shipping times may also influence delivery.

I also need photos from your photographer to complete your design, so delivery timelines depend on when your wedding gallery is ready.

I'll always keep you updated throughout the process and let you know if anything affects your expected delivery date.
